Kourosh articled and practiced with a union-side Ottawa labour law from 2000 until the spring of 2006. At that time he opened his own sole practice, eventually combining his skills with Yavar Hameed in 2006 and forming Hameed Farrokhzad in 2009.
Kourosh’s practice continues to focus on providing legal advice to Unions and individuals in a variety of areas including administrative law, labour and employment law, immigration law and family law. He has represented plaintiffs in the area of wrongful dismissal since the start of his practice in 2002. In addition to this, Kourosh has developed an extensive human rights practice involving matters brought before both the Ontario and Canadian Human Rights Commissions.
Kourosh has argued before the Superior Court of Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Canada Industrial Relations Board, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, the License Appeals Tribunal and a variety of other administrative boards and tribunals.
Kourosh has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa and is currently teaching as a part-time professor at Carleton University’s Department of Laws. He can provide legal services in both English and Farsi (Persian).
